A new Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) Express Entry draw for 2024, conducted on February 6, resulted in the issuance of 2,086 invitations for permanent residency (PR).
This draw marks the initiation of the Human Capital Priorities Stream (HCP) invitations by the OINP for the year 2024.
In 2023, a total of 14 OINP HCP stream draws sent out 17,502 invitations for permanent residency.
Express Entry candidates with work experience in one of the 42 healthcare occupations were eligible to participate in this OINP draw. The occupations targeted in this draw include:

Specialists in clinical and laboratory medicine
Specialists in surgery
General practitioners and family physicians
Veterinarians
Dentists
Optometrists
Audiologists and speech-language pathologists
Pharmacists
Dietitians and nutritionists
Chiropractors
Physiotherapists

Kinesiologists and other professional occupations in therapy and assessment
Nursing coordinators and supervisors
Registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses
Nurse practitioners
Physician assistants, midwives and allied health professionals

Licensed practical nurses
Paramedical occupations
Respiratory therapists, clinical perfusionists and cardiopulmonary technologists
Animal health technologists and veterinary technicians
Other technical occupations in therapy and assessment
Denturists
Dental hygienists and dental therapists
Dental technologists and technicians
Medical laboratory technologists
Medical radiation technologists
Medical sonographers
Cardiology technologists and electrophysiological diagnostic technologists
Pharmacy technicians
Other medical technologists and technicians
Traditional Chinese medicine practitioners and acupuncturists

Dental assistants and dental laboratory assistants
Medical laboratory assistants and related technical occupations
Nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates
Pharmacy technical assistants and pharmacy assistants
Other assisting occupations in support of health services
Invitations were extended to Express Entry profiles with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score ranging between 379 and 430, provided their primary occupation fell under one of the aforementioned healthcare occupations, inviting them to accept provincial nominations from Ontario.
The eligibility for the OINP draw considered Express Entry profiles created between February 6, 2023, and February 6, 2024, meeting the specified criteria.
Selected candidates will have a 45-day window to respond with a comprehensive application to claim their provincial nominations.Upon receiving an OINP nomination, these profiles will be awarded 600 points, elevating their CRS score to a range between 979 and 1,030, ensuring their selection in the subsequent general Express Entry draw.
